Located in Valgatara, in the depths of Valpolicella Classico, sits the family-run Luigi Righetti estate. Since 1909, when Angelo Righetti first earned a reputation as an outstanding winemaker, the family has focused on producing quality wines of distinction. Gianmaria and Giuseppe are the fourth generation of the Righetti family to carry on the family winemaking tradition. Gianmaria and Giuseppe’s father, Luigi, who is still active in the estate’s day-to-day operations, was the first in the family to consider production for consumers beyond the local market. Gian Maria has gone a step further by crafting wines with a more international flair.
In addition to the traditional varietals of the region, the estate cultivates international varietals to create Venetian wines with a worldly twist. With over a century of winemaking history, Luigi Righetti is a classic example of a winery that has preserved its own rich viticultural tradition, while creating innovative wines that are celebrated on the world stage.
